Custom Framing

We have been offering museum quality framing since 1996.  You will find a wide variety of framing styles available to compliment everything from children’s artwork to an old master and we treat everything with equal care and attention to detail. Our designers, who have close to 40 years of experience between them, will help you select the appropriate materials to enhance, preserve and protect your piece.  Their goal is to have friends notice the artwork first and then later remark on how well the framing compliments the piece. Using only acid free, archival mat boards and glazing that includes everything from regular to museum quality glass, as well as acrylic, we are equipped to fulfill all of your framing requirements.  We can, in fact, frame almost anything.

Conservation & Restoration

Originally when a painting or frame looked dingy and dirty, was damaged and torn, or started to fall apart this item was restored. That is, the painting or frame was made to look new again. This was achieved through the process of excess restoration and much of the original painting or frame was lost(removed) or covered(grossly overpainted) and the original painting had been changed. When these additions were made, the process becomes refinishing more than restoration.

Later conservation of paintings and frames developed rather than restoration. The process aims to conserve or preserve what exists of the original art work with no new additions. The object of conserving a painting or frame is to make it look as if it has always been properly cared for and there is little or no evidence of present work applied in order to achieve this.
