In this animal-themed show, seven artists who are entirely new to the gallery, as well as four painters and sculptors who are repeat exhibitors, debuted an array of coastal creatures, farm animals, and woodland wildlife

    Participants familiar to the gallery are oil painters J. Stacy Rogers (Lewes) and Brenda Kidera (Woodbine, MD). Among Rogers’ collection is a gorgeous image of hunting dogs in a composition that harkens back to the 16th and 17th-century. Kidera will present an absolutely endearing cow portrait, elegant koi fish, and more. Additionally, two sculptors, who are resident artists at the gallery, will showcase works in wood. Larry Ringgold (Chesapeake Beach, MD) collects driftwood along the Chesapeake Bay from which he creates sculptures that accentuate the organic beauty of the materials. Bob Whiting (Ocean View, DE) has been carving decoys for the past 30+ years and has received awards in many competitions including the Ward World Show, held every April in Ocean City, MD.

    Newcomers are Beverly Gurganus (Virginia Beach, VA), Elise Mahaffie (Jackson, WY), Jessie Rasche (Brookings, SD), Steve Oliver (Watertown, NY) Susan Shalowitz (Washington DC), Nancy Richards West (Chincoteague Island, VA), and Richard Clifton (Prime Hook, DE). Clifton has painted 53 duck stamps for various states, including the 2007-2008 and 2021-2022 Federal Duck Stamps. The gallery owners are elated to introduce so many new artists from across the country who have a wide range of techniques and styles. Some works are realistic and traditional, while others are simplistic and contemporary, or playful and stylized. The artists will exhibit a variety of winged creatures like birds of prey, waterfowl, and sweet songbirds, along with farm friends such as horses, cows, chickens and more.
