For the past fifty years, Bill has been actively involved in the arts. He received his formal training from Rowan University, the University of the Arts, and Studio Incamminati. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Art Education and a Masters Degree in Teaching.
Bill taught art for 30 years in the New Jersey public school system. During his tenure, he mentored many students who became art educators, as well as adults and hobbyists in oil painting, and drawing. He has given workshops at the Mispillion Art League, the Millsboro Art League, and the Rehoboth Art League. Bill maintains a studio and is currently teaching at The Studios on Walnut, 310 Walnut Street, Milton.
Throughout his career, Bill has received numerous awards throughout New Jersey and Delaware. His work has been featured in Delaware Beach Life, the Metropolitan Magazine, and the supplemental magazine” What’s Happening” of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Bill has been a member of the Milton Arts Guild, the Rehoboth Art League, and the Mispillion Art League. His work is represented by Peninsula Gallery, Lewes, DE. He continues to receive private commissions for his work. It is not unusual to see him throughout Sussex County with his camera and paintbrushes in hand, scouting out his next artistic endeavor.
The focal point of my work is to capture the uniqueness of shapes, colors, and moods of landscapes I encounter at the Eastern Shore, as well as, my travels throughout the country. Painting provides me the opportunity to manipulate these artistic elements and create artwork portraying the interpretations of my experiences. I draw inspiration from artists such as Marc Hanson, Colin Page, Edward Hopper, and William Trost Richards.
