of the corner of my Eye Once again we
welcome back local marine artist, Steve Rogers.
Steve is probably best known for his paintings of working boats plying
their trade or as abandoned hulls somewhere in the shallow coastal marshes of
the east coast. But he continues to
grow as an artist, learning new techniques, getting looser and perhaps more
importantly painting new scenes. This
latest collection of work stems from his recent travels.
Of it he says, “You know when you are driving somewhere and something
catches your eye, you stop the car, turn around to see what it was, and there
all of a sudden is a painting waiting to happen.
Well many of the pieces in this show reflect this, from Maine to Delaware
to Colorado to New Mexico, they are landscape views that I nearly missed.”
